Building on the success of the inaugural Games in July of 2012, the Sussex School Games returns to K2 Crawley for the second annual Summer Finals on 10 July.

Over 1,000 young people from schools across Sussex will come together for a day of sporting competition and celebration. The finals feature 10 different disciplines including table tennis, cricket and athletics.

Sadie Mason, Chief Executive of Active Sussex said: “We are thrilled to be able to return to K2 Crawley for the second year running. As an Olympic training venue, K2 is the perfect setting to inspire and energise our young people. The School Games is a chance to use the power of sport to bring people together and create a fantastic day for all.”

The Summer Finals is the second of two events under the Sainsbury’s School Games banner taking place in Sussex in 2013, following the The Winter Finals (6 March) at Lancing College.

In addition, some badged events will take place at the Parallel Youth Games (12 June, Triangle Burgess Hill) and elsewhere. Billed as a “mini-Olympics and Paralympics”, the School Games is a part of the government’s Olympic legacy programme and is supported by headline sponsor Sainsbury’s.
