On your marks, get set, GONE!


The Sussex School Games Sportshall Athletics Finals proved to be a day full of energy, as over 550 children travelled to Tanbridge House School in Horsham to compete in five competitions.

The morning saw a hotly contested Primary School competition, with Thomas A Beckett (representing Southern Area) taking the crown. Lindfield (Mid Sussex) were close behind in second place, with Southwater Academy (Central) in third place.

Four separate competitions ran throughout the afternoon with year 7’s and 8’s split by age and gender. The final standings in each competition was as follows:

Year 7 Girls

1st: Tanbridge House (Central)
2nd: Bishop Luffa (West Sussex West)
3rd: Sackville (Mid Sussex)

Year 7 Boys

1st: St Leonards (Hastings & Rother)
2nd: Downlands (Mid Sussex)
3rd: St Andrews (Southern)

Year 8 Girls

1st: The Weald (Central)
2nd: Sackville (Mid Sussex)
3rd: Bishop Luffa (West Sussex West)

Year 8 Boys

1st: St Andrews (Southern)
2nd: Hailsham (South Downs)
3rd: St Leonards (Hastings & Rother)
