Friday 13th is Sussex Athletes Lucky Day


Almost 550 school-children competed on Friday 13th February in 5 Sportshall Athletic level 3 competitions at Tanbridge House School, Horsham.

Mid Sussex, represented by Harlands, won gold in the Year 5 and 6 Primary competition whilst Bishop Luffa in the purple of West Sussex West won both the Year 8 Girls and Year 7 Boys competitions.

Hazelwick from Crawley ran, threw and jumped their way to gold in the Year 7 Girls category, and the Southern Area, who in 2014 topped the totals table at the Sussex School Games, picked up their first gold medals of 2015 in the Year 8 Boys competition.

Year 5/6 Mixed:

1st: Mid Sussex (Harlands), 2nd: Southern (West Park), 3rd: Hastings & Rother (Ark Blacklands)

Year 7 Boys:

1st: West Sussex West (Bishop Luffa), 2nd: Southern (West Park), 3rd: Central (Weald)

Year 7 Girls:

1st: Crawley (Hazelwick), 2nd: Mid Sussex (St Pauls), 3rd: South Downs (Bishop Bell)

Year 8 Boys:

1st: Southern (St Andrews CofE), 2nd: Mid Sussex (Warden Park Academy), 3rd: West Sussex West (Bishop Luffa)

Year 8 Girls:

1st: West Sussex West (Bishop Luffa), 2nd: Crawley (Hazelwick), 3rd: Southern (Steyning Grammar)
